Let's bring some sunshine...

On the 5th of December, we visited a few cancer patients in the children's ward in Candos hospital with a bag of small gifts for each one of them. We used the money collected in the bake sale to make this project possible.

When we got there, we were asked to go in the TV room and the children who were strong enough to get out of bed came and sat with us for a while. We gave out the gift bags, talked to them, Paul played some soft guitar and we all sang along. For me, the visit was an emotional challenge. It was the first time I was faced with such a situation, the innocent faces of those children and knowing that some of them wouldn't have the chance to be here on Christmas really crushed me. However we all had to be strong and be very positive around them. We did bring a smile on everyone's faces, which brought a little bit of sunshine on both sides.

The nurses were very thankful for the sunshine we brought. We gave the nurses a box of chocolate to show our appreciation of their hard work and commitment. They probably have one of the hardest jobs.
